In support of its commitment to conservation and in reinforcement of its leadership on driving environmental sustainability, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that its forthcoming SmarTech, at WETEX 2012 exhibition, is open for registration and set to be a bigger event than 2011 with companies from around the world showcasing a wide variety of energy and water-efficient products, ‘green’ goods and related technologies and services.

Introduced in March this year during the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition, (WETEX 2011) SmarTech is the only dedicated environmental marketing platform in the Middle East where brand owners, manufacturers, dealers, distributors and retailers come together to demonstrate their innovations, solutions and conceptions that are paramount to the cause of sustaining our precious resources and safe-guarding planet earth.

The three-day exhibition spectacle, part of WETEX, is organized under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and U.A.E. Finance Minister, in cooperation with The Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai and will also feature high quality industry seminars, lectures and workshops for exhibitors to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest ideas and developments in the area of energy-efficient and water-efficient parameters.

Talking on the growth of SmarTech 2012, HE Saeed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, said: “Following the success of SmarTech 2011, next year’s event will be an even greater opportunity for a business involved in energy-efficient and eco-friendly technologies to introduce their services and solutions to a global audience. In-line with the strategic vision of Dubai and DEWA to be a world leader in the field of utilities and energy-efficient technologies, SmarTech will enable a much-needed business platform to engage and facilitate trade and exchange environmental knowledge. With this in mind, SmarTech is set to become one of the most important meeting points for conservation and environment technology platforms assigned to the promotion of our planet’s well-being and cause of sustaining our resources for generations to come.”

During the three-day exhibition, companies, brands and establishments upholding the ‘green’ spirit in their products and services will also be recognized upon meeting DEWA’s energy-efficient and water-efficient parameters, for their commitment to sustainability, with an official ‘Letter of Recommendation.

“There is a range of products and technologies that will benefit through participating at SmarTech 2012,” Al Tayer continued. “The event is seeking to attract over 1,000 exhibitors from all industry sectors including, energy-saving appliances such as white goods, conservation lighting, environmental protection products and services, clean energy solutions and recycling and smart technologies. It will be through this coming together of the latest energy-saving technologies and innovations that we will begin to see measurable change in utility consumption and reduce the impact of carbon emissions on the environment. I urge every business adopting energy-saving technologies to contact DEWA to register for SmarTech.”

The SmarTech 2012 event is scheduled to be held from 13th - 15th March 2012 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, and will enable businesses from across the globe to promote their ‘green’ goods and services to the 15,000-plus visitors attracted to WETEX.
